Sequencer Image Track

Out of the box, Unreal is missing functionality to easily drop in images onto a track (as you would do in most video editing software). While there isn’t much call for this functionality in a shipped game, it’s incredibly valuable for the development process, allowing playtesters and the rest of the team to see storyboards of the cinematics before they’re finished.

  • 👉 Activating the plugin will add a new “Image Track” option to Sequencer
  • 👉 You can drop multiple images at a time and they’ll line up in sequential order

The plugin utilizes track instances to add slate textures to the viewport. There is more functionality I want to add, including:

  • 🛠️ Refactoring to better fit sequencer’s entity component system by setting up an ImageEntitySystem, which will also allow me to more easily add…
  • 📌 Transform track, so image positioning/rotation/scale can be animated

Enjoy.
